1921 Civic census was last census, was carried out based on cast. Vaishy population
in that was as follows:
Note:
- Population of Kalwars were considered separately as Sat Shudra.
- All Vaishy in Provinces in Item no. 6 were considered as Sat Shudra.
- There were three part of Shudra
- Sat Shudra: Brahmin can have meal in their home.
- Asat Shudra: Brahmin can touch them but couldn't drink water touched by them.
- Ati shudra: Un-touchable.
Population of Sat shudra in Bengal Aahata was 1,95,53,136. It includes many casts.
If we consider only 10% of above as Vaishy the Vaishy population in this province
was approx. 19.55 lakhs. Including this the total Vaishy population was 112 lakhs
(92.41+19.55) out of 290 lakhs the total population of India at that time i.e. 6.75%.
As per un-authenticated sources, at present there are about 20 lakhs Kesarwanies
in UP, MP, Bihar & Maharasthra, about 0.2% of overall population. As per internal
Census, 9.28 lakhs Kesarwanies are only in Uttar Pradesh.
In best of our knowledge, Kesarwani Vaishy Shabha is doing Census & collecting
the various statistics required to chalk-out the strategies for development of our
Kesarwani Samaj.
