Today we are having net facility & communicate the things thro’ internet. But in previous days (even now also) the Newspapers & Magazines were the main modes for mass communication. There were/are various periodicals related to our Kesarwani community.

Here is detail of some of them as follows:

  • Advocate Shri Kanhaiyalal "Shivratn" had started a monthly magazine “Kesarwani Marg Darshak" from Sagar (M.P.) in March 1921. It was the first magazine for Kesarwani & its annual subscription rate was Rs. 1.75/-. It was in publication for seven years.

  • In 1925-26 a periodicals “Kesarwani Samachar” started from Allahabad (U.P.). Its editor were Late Shri Chhotelal Kesarwani, Shri Onkarnath Gupt, Shri Pasupatinath Gupt, Shri Bharat Prasad Gupt & Shri Kedarnath Gupt.

  • In 1936 a magazine “Keshari” was started from Gaya-Bihar. Mr. Srinathji Palit was its editor. Many Kesarwani adopted this name as their title. As it was widely circulated in Bihar, most of the Keshari are from Bihar.

  • Kesarwani-Sansar” was started by Kesarwani Siksha Samiti, Prayag in 1939. Its editor was Late Shri Ramprasad Gupt. Later Shri Kedarnath Gupt & Shambunath Gupt were the editor & Asst. editor were Shri B.D. Keshri & shri Premchandra Gupt.

  • Publication of “Kesarwani Yuvak” was started in 1939 by Kesarwani Yuvak Mandal, Prayag. Its editor were Shri Onkarnath Gupt & Shri Sundar Lal Gupt.

  • Anthor magazine "Kesarwani-Sandesh” was being published from Allahabad.

  • There was an annual publication “Nishant” by Kesarwani Vaishya Sabha, Lucknow (U.P.) in the year 1985, which became half-yearly magazine later. Its editor team consists Shri Gopinath Gupt, Shri Rameshwar Prasad Gupt, Shri Mansoori Lal Gupt, Shri Krishna Chandra Kesarwani & Shri Kailash Nath Kesarwani. The publication re-started after a long duration.

  • Mr. Bholanath Kesarwani (Principle) had started a quarterly magazine “Kesarwani-Jyoti” in 1978. It was being published from Narayan Mandir, 910, Chandapur Ka Hata, Mutthiganj-Allahabad. Its editor team consists Shri Bholanath Gupt, Shri Radheyshyam Gupt, Dr. Subhash Chandra Kesarwani & Shri Om Prakash Gupt.

  • Mr. Mohan Lal Gupta had  started a quarterly magazine Kesar-Sanrachna on October 2, 1982, from Delhi. Subscription Details

  • Kesarwani Vaishya Sabha, Uttar Pradesh, a state unit of Akhil Bharatiya Kesarwani Vaishya Mahasabha, had started publication of a bi-monthly magazine “Samajdoot” in 1987. Its main objective was to inform its reader about the activities of Kesarwani Mahasabha & its other units.   • "Kesar Jyoti" magazine is still in publication from Chattishgarh.

  • "Vaish Sammelan" is a monthly magazine, being published continuously since August 1989 from 11, Janpath, New Delhi – 110001 PH: +91-11-23792519, 23792693. More...

    On 31st August 2003, Mr. B.D. Agrawal started a quarterly magazine “Vaishyoday” from Allahabad, under Agrasen Seva Sansthan ® Allahabad. This is being edited by Mr. Krishna Kumar Agrawal. Subscription Details

Apart from above there are many  other magazines viz Kesar Kusum, Vaishya Darpan etc.

These are few details we could collect. In best of our knowledge only Kesar-Sanrachna, Nisahant, Kesar Jyoti & Vaishyodaya are still in publication. All other magazines are discontinued. Apart from above there will be lot of other publications also.

Further, the Communication Minister of Akhil Bharatiya Vaishya Mahasammelan, Madhyapradesh Shri Ghanshyamdas Gupta is collecting the details of all such (daily, Weekly, Fortnightly, Monthly, Quartely, half-yearly & yearly) periodicals. He has a plan to publish these as a booklet, after segregating it state/district wise, also having a plan for exibishion & a library of such periodicals.I request members to send the details, available with them to Shri Ghanshyamdas Gupta.
