The education plays a vital role in upliftment, development of any community. Unfortunately, socially backward Kesarwani Samaj lags a lot in education too. Following are the eye-opening (unauthenticated but from reliable sources) facts:

  • The literacy rate in our community is only 26.3% (as on 1995-96).
  • Approx. 73.7% people, mostly girls, never go to school.
  • Only 9% of Kesarwanies could reach upto high-school & only @ 50% could pass it out, balance 50% become engaged in their family business.
  • Only 1.8-2%, mostly from urban locality could complete graduation.
  • In Higher education, administrative studies, Medical education, and engineering education - our share is very-very less.

This has a major contribution in social backwardness of our Kesarwani Samaj.

The next & most awaking factor is the lack of self development. We merely think in un-traditional way. Only very few of us could think of diversified business. We mostly prefer our family business, which are already saturated & get it divided in every generation. It is a good sign that the new generation is determine to mach the pace with existing changes

Coming back to point, 80% of Kesarwani families are involved in small business eg. Kirana Merchant, Ferry, Chat, Tea-stall & agriculture & have un-certain & variable income. The whole family be engaged in the said business. Only 10% Kesarwanies holds normal business. Only 2% Kesarwanies are in services. 0.018 to 0.02% Kesarwanies are in Govt. services & balance in Private sectors.

In more than 10 lakhs kesarwanies in UP, only 06 person are in Class I service, 39 in Class II & 141 person in class III services. In central services, only 01 kesarwani (from UP & posted at UP) is IPS. 75-80% Kesarwani still earns less than the avg. per capita income.

In politics we are still zero. Kesarwanies are 0.2-0.25% of total population but dosen't have any percentage in 545 MPs & @ 4500 MLAs. The main reason is, we are un-united. We support other leaders, is there no one from Kesarwanies to lead the masses. Why don't we identify, encourage and support such people from our community to get the key positions in social structure & in political parties.

The need of the hour is action. Coming together, knowing each other better and, more intimately will develop an emotional bond and a sense of unity, a feeling of oneness and communal affinity. We feel that there is an urgent need of a self-introspection and change of our mindset. Changing the mindset is not easy. A conscious and sincere sustained effort is needed in our commitment to change our thinking and attitude.
