"Padm-Shri" Dr. Narmada Prasad Gupta
(A well known Urologist in the world)
Dr. Narmada Prasad Gupta was born on 12 October 1947 in a respected social worker's Family in Jabalpur (M.P.). His father was Late Shri Mohan Lal Gupta & mother Late Smt. Sato Bai Gupta. He is having 5 Brothers & 3 Sisters. His elder brother is Shri Balakishan Gupta & younger brother is Shri Rajesh Gupta (a grain Merchant). He got married to Dr. Usha Gupta from Allahabad.
He got graduated from Jabalpur Medical College in 1974 & started practicing. After getting the M.C.H. (Urology), he extended his services to All India Instiute of Medical Science (AIIMS) and taken great care of poor & needful peoples.
He established himself by his research-works, by treating kideney & urological dieceses & succefully conducting more than 10,000 operations. He has published more than 220 articles on urology dieceses & its treatments. He has trained more than hundred post graduated students.
Five books, authoured by him have been already published.
He received Dr. S.K. Sen Award in 2002, U.S. President Gold Medal in 2003. On 26 January' 2007. Dr. Gupta is a well known urologist & at present he is Head of Department - Urology at AIIMS. He is also a elected member of Madhya Pradesh Kesarwani Siksha Samiti.
On January 26, 2006; Dr. Narmada Prasad Gupt was honoured with
"Padm-Shri"
by Government of India.
He got honoured by "Padmbhushan Dr. Dukhanram Vighyan Hindi Sewa Samman" in 15th Sarswat Samaroh was organised by Eatawa Hindi Sewa Nidhi. Chief Justice of Supreme Court Shri Tarun Mukharji & Higher Education Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Rakeshdhar Triphathi had combindly did 'Lokarpan' of his book "Urology" (Written in Hindi) along with five other books in this samaroh.
