Recommendation of various commissions to include Kesarwani in backward class.

Kaka Kalelkar Commission had found Kesarwanies as socially, Educationally & Economically backward in Uttar Pradesh & Madhy Pradesh and had recommended for including Kesarwani caste also in OBC (other Backward Class)

In govt. of India National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC)'s report volume II-1995 also, Kesarwani caste was listed at serial no. 72 in recommended backward casts in Uttar Pradesh. Other casts in this list viz Kalwar, Kansodhan, Kumhar, kunjada, Kurmi, Lohar, Yadav etc. are already enjoing the benefits of reservation, but Kesarwani were excluded for reservation benefits.

Similarly in Mandal Commissions report's Vol II, page 171, entry no. 4, Kesarwani cast also have been recommended for inclusion in OBC in U.P., M.P., Bihar etc. Kalwar, Keshri etc. were recommended in Mandal commission reports have got the reservation but Kesarwani are yet to get this status.
