Advocate Ramgopal Gayaram Kesharwani

Advocate Ramgopal Gayaram Kesharwani was born in 1920 to a well known respectable family from Mungeli (Dist.: Bilaspur, Chattisgarh). His famous Malgojar family was known for the pioneering social works and justice in the region.  His uncle Shri Gajadhar Sao was a well known freedom fighter who fought against the British rule and for social justice in the region.  He was brother-in-law of Shri Niranjan Prasad Kesharwani (Ex. M.P. Bilaspur)

Advocate Ramgopal was a brilliant child right from the beginning, having topped in all the exams, he went for his higher education - Bachelor of Commerce from Allahabad and then moved to Lucknow to do M.A. in Economics. During this time he had the opportunity to be with high ranking officials and freedom fighters who influenced him a lot. Also a sports lover- played tennis with famous national tennis players from Lucknow like Mohammed Ghaus of his time. He was selected for the foreign services but preferred to go for his higher studies.

After completing his post graduation in 1945, he moved to Nagpur to do his L.L.B & completed with flying colors. With such a credentials – he was appointed as Judge Magistrate in Kawardha (Chattishgarh) in 1947. He was well known for his honesty and dedication for his professional work.

In 1952 he moved to Nagpur and joined a well know industrial group which had operations all over India as their legal consultant. During this period he traveled widely and gained vast experience. He represented the firms with leading law associations of India like Mulla & Mulla Co., from Bombay.

Advocate Ramgopal was a deeply religious person – had the opportunity to be with Shankracharaya from Kanchi Kamkoti and was life member for Ramkrishna Mission at Nagpur. He was also actively associated with Nagpur branch of Kesharwani Sabha where he contributed to lots of activities. All throughout life he received the encouragement of his wife Nirashadevi Kesharwani (Daughter of Ambikaprasad Sao Gupta, Ex MLA, Mungeli) who was herself educated confident woman whose aim was to give the best education to all their children.

The result of this is that now all the children are highly qualified and well placed in the society. His elder son Mr. Chandrashekar Kesharwani (B.E- Electronics, V.R.C.E Nagpur) was the Chief Engineer for Pune Telecom, Dr Shashishekar Kesharwani (B.V.Sc & A.H) Ex Vice president of NAVCOM, Pune, is a well know Avian Consultant, Shri Kapilshekar – M.Com, MA Economics, Shri Shriniwas – MA, MCom, DBM & Dr Bhaskar Gupta – MBBS, M.D (Pediatrics), Fellowship in Neonatology – consultant and Chief, Yiaco Apollo Hospital, Kuwait.
