Dr. Ramesh Chandra Keshri

Dr. R. C. Keshri, basically a Poultry and Meat Technologist, was
born on 13th July, 1949 in a District Town named Garhwa of Jharkhand State
(India). He did his degree of Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry
from Ranchi Veterinary College, Ranchi; Master of Veterinary Science and
Doctor
of Philosophy from the Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar.
He was awarded AHRD National Fellowship sponsored by the
FAO/UNO.
He had been to the Dept. of Food Science & Technology at the Center for Food
Safety and Quality Enhancement of the
University
of Georgia, USA to carry out
Post Doctoral Research.
Dr. Keshri was also awarded State Govt. Fellowship, ICAR Fellowships, CSIR Fellowship
and IVRI-UNDP Fellowship during his academic career.
Dr. Keshri started his scientific career as a Jr. Research Fellow in 1973 at IVRI-
Izatnagar. He got selected in Agricultural Research Service (1976) of ICAR as Scientist
(S-1) to work at IVRI Izatnagar. He was, then promoted to Scientist (S-2) from 1983;
Senior Scientist from 1986 and
Principal Scientist from 1998. Dr.
Keshri is a
Senior Faculty Member of ICAR and Deemed University of IVRI
in the Discipline of Animal / Livestock Products Technology. He has, so far, guided
8 M. V. Sc. and 2 Ph. D.
Scholars and has
published about 75 Research Papers
in National as well as in International Journals. He has been the
External Examiner
of Undergraduate and Post graduate students at various Universities.
Dr. Keshri’s
area of research and teaching has been the Fresh Meat
Technology, Processed Meat Technology, Egg Science & Technology and Dairy Technology
i.e.
Technology of Foods of Animal Origin and includes wide range
of traditional and western food products namely meat patties, enrobed patties, meat
spread, meat snacks, gizzard pickles, tandoori & barbecued meat products, egg
roll, egg loaf, egg-milk mango beverage and low –fat paneer.
Dr. Keshri was the
Officer-in- Charge of Dairy Technology Section
of IVRI, Izatnagar, from the year 2000 to 2006. Besides, he has been holding the
charge of Poultry Products Technology Lab., Food Microbiology Lab., ARIS Cell etc
.
Dr. Keshri has been serving as
a Member of various Inst. / University
Committees, such as
Board of Studies, Academic Council, Students problemsand
Discipline Committee, Institute Joint Staff Council, Commodity
Price Fixation Committee, Dept. Purchase Advisory Committee, House Allotment Committee,
Secretary, IVRI Officers Club, “UPADHAKCHH- RAJBHASHA” etc.
Dr. Keshri has been in the
Expert Panel of many
Institutions
and Universities, like
SAUs, IGNOU, ASRB, BIS
etc. He has been
involved inselection and promotion process of
Employees, Students, Scientists, Asst. Professor, Assoc. Professor, Professor,
Head of the Department and Director ofInstitute
at State and National Level. He has been performing the job of Referee to Journals
publishing Review & Research Articles.
Dr. R. C. Keshri has a vast experience of 41 Long Years of Veterinary
Science and Animal Husbandry in general and as an Expert / Academician
/ Scientist and Administrator, in particular, to serve ably at the
State/ National and International Levels , sincerely, honestly and honorably.
Dr. Keshri is proud father of a son, who is in the process of becoming a surgeon
(MBBS, MS) and a daughter (Dental Surgeon)
